Launched in 2020,
the FUTURAPET projectmarks Ekosistem Engineering's first major step into the plastic recycling sector. Operating flawlessly since its inception, the facility plays a crucial role in promoting sustainability within the industry. This project stands out by contributing to the water ecosystem through its highly efficient use of water resources in a sector notorious for high water consumption in plastic recycling .

One of FUTURAPET's most significant achievements is its annual water saving of 1,000,000 m³. This is a monumental contribution to both environmental protection and reducing industrial water usage. Moreover, by recycling PET bottles recovered from waste and reintroducing them into the economy without harming the environment, the project supports both economic and environmental sustainability.

The integrated use of various treatment technologies such as mechanical treatment, chemical treatment, biological treatment, membrane systems, and sludge dewatering highlights the project's complexity and success. One of the biggest challenges of the FUTURAPET project was the ban on wastewater discharge by factories in the region. Therefore, the facility was specifically designed to ensure complete wastewater recovery.
